FAQ
Questions, answered.
Common questions about KidSlot — membership, watches, Concierge, pricing, the success fee, and coverage.
The basics
- What does KidSlot actually do?
- We bring the classes, activities and camps near you into one honest list — what it costs, whether registration is open, and when we last checked — and build three realistic weekend plans around your family’s actual schedule.
- Do you guarantee my child gets a spot?
- No, and we never will. We help you find the right thing and move on it quickly, and — with Concierge, which is invite-only right now — a person works hard-to-get spots by hand. With Concierge there is no fee unless we secure the spot.
- How do watches work?
- Save any class, activity, or camp — even before registration opens — and add a watch. A watch keeps it on one list with what we last checked. KidSlot isn’t checking watched pages for changes yet, and we’ll tell you the moment that starts. KidSlot membership includes up to 5 active watches.
Concierge
- How much does KidSlot Concierge cost?
- Concierge is a one-time success fee, not a subscription. $99 success fee. You’re charged only if KidSlot successfully secures the spot. Provider registration fees are separate.
- When am I charged for Concierge?
- Nothing is charged when you request Concierge, and we do not collect payment details up front. If KidSlot secures the spot, we contact you to arrange the $99 success fee. If we can’t secure it, there is no KidSlot fee. If we cannot secure the spot, you are not charged the KidSlot success fee.
- What does the $99 success fee cover, and what about provider fees?
- The $99 covers KidSlot securing an eligible spot. It does not include the activity itself. Provider registration fees are separate — these can include tuition, registration, membership, deposits, supplies, and taxes.
- What happens if KidSlot cannot secure the spot?
- We could not secure the spot. You were not charged the KidSlot $99 success fee. Where appropriate, your preferred watch stays on your list.
- What happens if the provider requires CAPTCHA or human verification? Does KidSlot bypass CAPTCHAs?
- Some providers require CAPTCHA or other human verification during registration. If that happens, KidSlot will notify you and pause before submission so you can complete the required step. KidSlot does not bypass CAPTCHAs, human-verification requirements, access controls, or provider security measures.
- Will my preferred watch remain active during a Concierge request?
- Yes. Your preferred watch stays on your list where appropriate. KidSlot isn’t checking watched pages for changes yet, so a Concierge request is worked by a person, not by an automatic alert.
Coverage and cost
- Where is KidSlot available?
- KidSlot opens one metro at a time, and we are opening Washington–Baltimore first — including Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Arlington, Alexandria, and DC neighborhoods like Capitol Hill and Georgetown. We are onboarding founding families there now, personally, while we build out coverage. Not in your area? Tell us where to go next. Bring KidSlot to my city
- What does it cost?
- KidSlot membership is $49/month for your whole household — every child, no per-child pricing. It covers browsing everything KidSlot has found, building three realistic weekend plans around your family’s real schedule, saving what looks good, and keeping up to 5 active watches. Cancel anytime. Concierge is separate — a $99 success fee, charged only if we secure the spot, and invite-only while we pilot it.
How we work
- Do you automatically book spots for me?
- No. A person at KidSlot helps you secure hard-to-get spots, and we always confirm with you before anything is booked. We never log in as you, never ask for your passwords, never solve CAPTCHAs and never submit your payment details. We surface what is open and help you move quickly — the last step is always yours.
- How do you keep activity information current?
- We gather information from public sources we have reviewed and registered, and anything uncertain is checked by a person before it reaches you. Every listing shows when we last checked it, and we label what we are unsure of rather than guessing. Always confirm details on the provider’s page before you go.
Your family and your account
- Can I add more than one child?
- Yes. Add each child’s age, grade, school, and interests. Recommendations and your calendar adapt to each child.
- How do I cancel?
- Anytime, from your Account page. Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period and you keep membership access until then. Afterwards your account stays open — your family’s history and saved activities remain yours; what stops is membership planning and your paid watch capacity.
